The Perrier-Jouët Journey (III): Legacy Portraits by Harcourt

To celebrate its bicentenary, Perrier-Jouët has commissioned portraits by legendary Studio Harcourt to symbolise passionate family spirit for passing on artisanal and artistic craftsmanship.

The series of portraits showcase iconic examples of family legacy including French movie stars Alain Delon and daughter Anouchka, Catherine Deneuve and son Christian Vadim, French artists Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and son Louis-Marie, the world’s oldest Circus dynasty Patriarch Sampion Bouglione and son Francesco, France’s oldest Jeweller Olivier Mellerio and daughter Emilie, and Italian legendary wine maker Marquis Antinori and daughter Alegra.

Founded in Paris in 1934, studio Harcourt has a signature timeless style that is easily recognisable. The play of lighting inspired by movie sets is a trait since the early days. "In France, one is not an actor if one hasn't been photographed by the Studio Harcourt", wrote philosopher Roland Barthes in 1957.
