The Perrier-Jouët Journey (II): Bicentenary Gala Dinner


On 21st March, the first day of Spring, I had the honour to attend the bicentenary celebration by Champagne House Perrier-Jouët. At the gala dinner, the 'Bi-Centenaire'—the very first Living Legacy champagne designed to be passed on to future generations, was also officially unveiled.

Set in the stunning glass courtyard of the iconic Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, it symbolises Perrier-Jouët’s passionate family spirit for passing on artisanal and artistic craftsmanship.

I wore a Matthew Williamson for H&M dress to the gala.

An exclusive guest list of 200 guests from 10 countries attended this private launch by the house renowned globally for its Belle Époque Cuvée.

Amongst the other VIP guests were also Catherine Deneuve and son Christian Vadim, Spanish choreographer and dancer Blanca Li, English designer and restaurateur Sir Terence Conran and daughter Sophie, designer Noë Duchaufour-Lawrance, French TV presenter Stephane Bern, Japanese art photographer Makiko Takehara, Spanish Fashion Designer Isaac Reina, Michelin star Chefs Albert & Alain Roux.

Guests also enjoyed a unique exhibition of photographic portraits by legendary Studio Harcourt, showcasing iconic examples of family legacy. (I will write another entry for this and showcase the entire series of portraits)



When the time for dinner came, the dining hall was unveiled with screens being lifted amidst the light projection. What a surprise!




Guests were treated to Belle Époque Cuvées and a sumptuous champagne-paired celebratory dinner orchestrated by notorious French Chefs Jean-Louis Nomicos and his mentor Alain Ducasse.
